There is nothing worse than a leather jacket with sleeves that swallow your hands. Whether you have a vintage find or a new purchase that isn't fitting quite right, our master sewist can professionally shorten the sleeves to your exact specifications, preserving the original style and proportion of the garment.

What Is Included in the Service?

This service covers the shortening of both sleeves on one garment. We can handle:

  • Plain Cuffs: Simple hem shortening for a clean finish.
  • Zippered Cuffs: We carefully remove the zipper, shorten the sleeve, and reinstall the zipper (or move it up) to maintain the factory look.
  • Snap/Button Cuffs: We shorten the sleeve and reattach the hardware (or move the placket if possible).
  • Linings: We always shorten the interior lining to match the new sleeve length so it doesn't bunch up inside.

⚠️ Important: How to Measure & Mark
Do NOT use pins! Pins leave permanent holes in leather. Please follow these steps:

  • Option A (Best): Fold the sleeve inside to the desired length and secure it with a paper clip or binder clip (use a small piece of paper under the clip to protect the leather).
  • Option B: Include a note in the box with a specific measurement (e.g., "Please shorten sleeves by 1.5 inches").

Which Shipping Option Should I Choose?

  • Email Label (+$0): Best value. We email you a label to print. You print it and tape it to your own box.
  • Send Me a Box (+$25): We ship you a "Shipping Kit" with a collapsed box and a return label.
  • US Mail Label (+$2): No printer? We print the label here and mail it to you via USPS. You stick it on your own box.
  • Cleaning and Repair (+$0): Select this option if you are purchasing a Cleaning Service at the same time.

Common Questions:

Will I lose the zipper detail?
In most cases, no. We work to "move up" the zipper detail so you keep the look. However, if you are shortening the sleeve significantly (more than 2-3 inches), the zipper length may need to be shortened to fit the new proportion.

Do you shorten from the shoulder or the cuff?
This service covers shortening from the Cuff (Wrist) only. Shortening from the shoulder is a much more complex and expensive process that involves resizing the armhole. We recommend cuff shortening for 99% of alterations.

Can you lengthen sleeves?
No, unfortunately, we cannot add leather to lengthen sleeves that are too short. We can only shorten them.
