The Interior Restoration: Selecting Your New Lining
A leather jacket is only as good as its lining. When the original interior shreds or wears thin, it’s an opportunity to not just repair the garment, but to upgrade its comfort and function.
At LeatherCareUSA, we use premium materials specifically designed for the weight and "grab" of leather. Below are our standard lining options available for our Professional Relining Service.
1. Classic Satin / Acetate Linings
This is the standard for fashion and dress leather jackets. It provides a sleek, high-end feel and makes the jacket incredibly easy to slide on and off over clothing.

2. Brushed Cotton & Flannel Linings
Perfect for mid-weight jackets or those worn in cooler climates. Flannel adds a layer of warmth and a rugged, "outdoors" aesthetic. It is highly durable and feels soft against the skin.

3. Quilted & Insulated Linings
For heavy-duty winter jackets or motorcycle gear, a quilted lining provides maximum heat retention. These linings feature a layer of poly-fill insulation stitched between the fabric layers to create a "puffer" effect inside the leather shell.

Can I keep my original pockets?
Yes. In most cases, our master tailors can "harvest" your original internal hidden pockets and sew them back into the new lining. If you want to add a pocket that wasn't there before, we can often accommodate that during the relining process as well.
Not sure which weight to choose?
Different jackets require different lining thicknesses to maintain the correct fit. If you aren't sure if a heavy quilted lining will make your jacket too tight, let us help.
Text a photo of your jacket to our team via the chat bubble in the bottom right corner. We’ll help you choose the material that matches your jacket's style and fit.
