The Science of Safe Cleaning
Your leather jacket wasn't cheap, and neither is the technology we use to clean it. We don't use harsh petrochemicals that strip the life out of skins. Instead, we use a combination of nature-based solutions and advanced technology to clean safely.
1. GreenEarth™ Cleaning (The Gentle Way)
What is it?
GreenEarth™ is a silicone-based cleaning process. Essentially, it is liquefied sand (SiO2). It is non-toxic, non-hazardous, and odorless.
Why is it better for leather?
Traditional dry cleaning uses "Perc," a harsh solvent that dissolves oils—exactly what you don't want for leather. GreenEarth is chemically inert, meaning it doesn't chemically react with the leather fibers. It gently carries detergents to the garment, lifts the dirt, and carries it away without stripping the natural oils that keep your leather soft.
- ✅ No "chemical smell" left on your jacket.
- ✅ Safe for delicate beads, sequins, and trim.
- ✅ Environmentally non-toxic.
2. Advanced Wet Cleaning
What is it?
Sometimes, water is the best solvent—but only if controlled perfectly. We use computer-controlled washing systems that precisely manage water temperature, agitation, and detergent levels.
Why is it used?
This method is often best for heavily soiled items or specific types of suede. We incorporate specialized fat-liquors and conditioners directly into the water bath. This allows the leather to absorb hydration while it is being cleaned, ensuring it dries soft rather than stiff.
3. Hand Cleaning & Spotting
The Human Touch.
Machines can't see stains; people do. Some vintage items are simply too fragile for any machine. In these cases, our master cleaners work by hand, using sponges, brushes, and specialized spotting tables to treat stains inch-by-inch.
Trust the Technology.
