Our master sewists specialize in structural repairs for leather, suede, sheepskin, and fur. We use heavy-duty industrial walking-foot machines to re-stitch seams and expert sub-patching techniques to mend tears.

Tears in leather are complex. Before ordering a "Tear Repair," we highly recommend texting us a picture (use the chat widget in the bottom right) or emailing careteam@leathercareusa.com. We can confirm if the leather is strong enough to hold a repair and ensure you select the right price tier.

What Is Included in the Service?
We choose the best repair method based on the damage and the type of hide:
- Seam Repair: If the thread has rotted or broken but the leather is intact, we re-stitch the seam using the original needle holes whenever possible.
- Tear Mending (Sub-Patching): If the leather is ripped, we insert a strong reinforcing material behind the tear, glue it down for stability, and carefully stitch over the damage to secure it.
- Fur/Lining Mending: We can close rips in fur coats or interior linings.
⚠️ Important: The "Scar" Reality
Unlike fabric, leather repairs are never invisible. Once the hide is torn, it is permanent. Our goal is to close the hole, stop it from spreading, and make it look as neat as possible, but there will always be a visible "scar" or stitch line where the repair was made.
Which Repair Tier Should I Choose?

- Simple Seam Re-Stitch: Select this if the leather is perfect, but the two pieces have come apart because the thread broke.
- Small Tear Repair: For jagged rips, holes, or snags that are under 1 inch in size.
- Medium/Complex Repair: For larger tears, L-shaped rips, or areas that require extra reinforcement.
